I have shipped out over 700 packages, drawn almost as many remarques (!). We're down to the more complicated orders, which go slower than the first few waves. Please hang in there! Your book is on its way.
I wanted to let you know that I will be shipping your books in tiers, beginning with the easiest orders first: books, no signature, no add-ons. I will charge your cards as I go. This will allow me to do two things:
1) ease into the process as quickly and efficiently as possible, and
2) Leave the foreign orders to last. I can provide some substantial savings for foreign shipping if I use UPS. I've been warned away from FedEx by several backers due to problems with theft in their country. I was implored to use the US Postal Service. I'll do that still if you don't trust UPS, but the savings can be as much as $30 in some instances. Please let me know in comments or by email.
Because Backerkit won't release all your data to me until I charge cards, this is the simplest way to sequester the foreign orders and address each one individually for maximum savings.
I reached out to Backerkit to give me the definitive answer to the issue of updating credit cards. Here's what they told me:
Since I didn't collect shipping during Kickstarter, you will need to use your SURVEY to settle up shipping balances.
When a Kickstarter project syncs with BackerKit, only basic pledge details are imported, including your name, country, pledge level, and how much was paid. Backerkit does not receive your credit card/payment details. Any new balance, for example add-on sales and shipping fees, in your BackerKit survey need to be covered with a credit or debit card in your BK survey.
Your orders are not locked yet, so you can still edit your selections and payment information via your survey.

Go to the "Survey Confirmation" email that came from Backerkit. There is a link in the email to update your payment method. Or, if you have a Backerkit account, go to your account at backerkit.com and choose this campaign.
Well, I sort of am. But a backer shared this advice in comments, and I thought it worth passing on officially.
CHECK YOUR SAVED CARD INFO! It has been some time since the pledge period, and some cards might have expired or suffered another demise. Double-check and update the info. Your Pledge items were paid during the Kickstarter, but your shipping fees will happen when I lock the orders.
